What we do
Occupational Therapy
In-person or virtual
We offer outpatient therapy in the natural environment. Simply put, we provide therapeutic services in the environments in which the child and family most often interact. This can mean home, daycare, parks, places of worship, stores and restaurants.
Through live teletherapy visits, we can observe important family routines and offer in-the-moment coaching through the difficult parts. Much like our in-person visits, we can identify strengths to build on and ways to turn daily activities into routines that build various skills. We are also happy to provide a hybrid model of service delivery, whereby we would come into your home on occasion and other visits would be completed virtually. We are flexible!
Speech Therapy
Virtual
Through telehealth, our speech therapists provide personalized and effective interventions, catering to the unique needs of each child. By meeting your child where they are at, your child will progress further and more quickly. Our innovative approach not only breaks down geographical barriers but also promotes inclusivity, making speech therapy more readily available to anyone who needs it.
At Ability First, our goal is to create a supportive, fun environment for you and your child, while also helping them to meet their milestones.
Nutrition Therapy
In-person or virtual
Nutrition services are most-often rendered in-home, but with telehealth, families have more flexibility in scheduling. We are happy to devise a plan for visits that will work with your family’s schedule.
Our nutritionist will come to the family’s home, discuss nutrition needs, and offer solutions the better the child’s nutritional status. With the right nutrition, progress in all other areas is more possible! We can address food allergies/intolerance, supplementation, dietary needs, G-tube feeding and weaning, and weight gain.

Next Steps
Ability First Pediatrics’ practitioners work with children and their families to identify what activities are important to the family and what activities are challenging. We look at factors including environment, relationships, abilities present, and abilities required for each activity and then help you find a workable solution for your family in the context of desired activities and outcomes.
